Recent Work
Cosgrove Park Store
Work on the newly relocated shop is virtually complete, just some signage and
the new alarm system and it will be ready
to stock.
The new pathways are finished and the redesigned car parking area is just
waiting for white lining.
We have created large flower/shrub beds to form a divider between parking
areas and pathways. These will be planted in the coming week or so.
Cafe/Restaurant
The old Poolside Cafe will not be re-opening in 2008. Instead the former
Lakeside Store building is being completely refurbished and will be re-opening
as the new Cafe/Restaurant for the Park.
The new building will be able to accommodate a greater number of diners and will
comprise of different areas including a new coffee lounge overlooking the lake.
There will also be a number of tables outside for al fresco dining on those
sunny days that we yearn for.
Updates including the new menus
and photos of the development will be posted as the become available.
Sales Area
In response to customer feedback we have redesigned and resurfaced the holiday
home sales areas.
The area will now accommodate up to twelve holiday homes on a free draining
surface of decorative 20mm gravel.
We have also added power to the sales area so that you can see what some of the
holiday homes look like illuminated.
The sales areas are separated from the road by rustic planters that will be
planted with summer bedding for that seasonal splash of colour.
As ever we will start the season with a wide range of new and used holiday
homes.
Back Lakes & Fish Restocking
There has been extensive
tree/shrub management work carried out around all of the back lakes.
This has opened up many of the
fishing swims to allow greater ease of casting with less chance of snags or loss
of tackle. The overhanging trees on the Doughnut Lake island have also been
trimmed back.
The swims in front of each
fishing platform have been cleared and where possible deepened, which should
hopefully stop the reeds from overtaking the swim so quickly.
We will be permanently numbering
the pegs so that anglers can share their experiences of which pegs are producing
and which may not be yet. It will also save time preparing the matches that we
intend to run throughout the coming season.
UPDATES
13/03/08: We have introduced over
600lbs of Roach into the Back Lakes
20/03/08: We are hoping to take
delivery of over 100 common carp between 4lb & 8lb during the next two weeks,
these will be distributed between several of the lakes.
26/03/08: The donor lake for the
Common carp only managed to yield 31 fish but they averaged over 6.5lb each so
totalled just over the 200lb mark, they were divided between the two Fountain
View Lakes. We will source additional fish for the other lakes in the next
couple of week.
Broadwater Car Park
We have ripped up the entire
uneven surface of the Broadwater Car Park and have installed new kerbs
and excavated to allow a complete new sub base to be installed.
The whole car park area has now
been resurfaced and will be white-lined to show parking bays in the next week or
so.
The kerbs have also created a
small (but perfectly formed) flower/shrub bed that we can plant to bring some
colour to what has been a relatively bland area in the past.
The waste bin will be returned
once the shrub beds have been completed.
Main Drive
As we were having several areas on the Park resurfaced we thought that it would
be an ideal time for the main drive to be attended to. The existing surface has
done well - it has lasted well over ten years, but the number of patches and
crazed areas were starting to increase rapidly. We have resurfaced from the
wrought iron gates to the barriers. In many parts we replaced the entire sub
base as well which should see the road last even longer. |
